面试,是用人单位录用大学毕业生的关键环节。通过面试,用人单位可以对毕业生的知识面、反应能力、综合素质等有一个全面的了解。通常情况下,面试是经过笔试以及审阅材料等初选程序之后,正式录用毕业生之前的最后筛选。一般说来,通过面试,毕业生才算真正落实了就业单位。那么毕业生在面试时如何才能突出自己的优点回避自己的缺点,顺利度过面试关呢?
首先,面试要看对象。看准对象并不是要你察言观色、看风使舵。看对象是要求你看准你期望供职的单位对人才素质要求有什么特点,然后有的放矢地介绍自己的情况。如果单位是政府机关,那么必然看重的是学生的政治修养以及深含持重、知识面宽、反应灵敏、综合素质过硬等基本条件,如果能充分展示你的党员身份、担任过什么干部、组织过什么活动等情况,则更能引起主考官的兴趣。如果对方是科研院所,可能看重的是你的基础理论功底、外语能力,事业心、责任心、进取心、好奇心以及尊重客观事实、实事求是的工作态度等。在这里你展示你的文艺天赋和组织才能就有点缘木求鱼。如果从事的是外贸工作,那么对方可能就会对你的外语水平、财贸知识、公关能力、法律常识等有特殊的要求。如果对方所要求的不是你的长项,那你就重点介绍今后在这些方面取得重要发展的可能性。总之这比你盲目的介绍自己收效要好。
突出优点的要点:首先必须敢于介绍自己。要有足够的信心和强烈的表现欲,切忌扮演“牙膏”角色,问一句,答一句,甚至问几句都答不上一句。要知道在这种时候的沉默、发怵、畏缩、矜持、腼腆、嗫嚅、窘促等心理状态和外在表现,都可能使你失去就业的机会。同时还要注意不要低估自己。有的人对自己的特长、优点不敢讲,对经过努力可以做到的事不敢表态,对于个人的愿望不敢阐述和表达。他们担心,如若把我自己说得很好,到了实际工作中,干不出成绩怎么办?其实这种顾虑是多余的,是缺乏社会经验、缺乏择业常识造成的。如果在表露自己的时候,讲不出自己有什么优点,反而讲了一大堆这也不会、那也不能的套话,就会使用人单位感到你能力有限。因此毕业生在表露自己的过程中,既不要过分吹嘘自己,也不要低估自己,应基于自身的客观情况,积极、客观地表露自己,力争恰到好处。其次要扬长避短。每个人都有自己的特长和不足,无论是在性格上,专业上都是如此。因此面试时一定要扬长避短。例如性格外向的人往往容易给人留下热情活泼、思维敏捷但不深沉的印象。这类性格的人在面试时要注意克服自己的弱点,讲话的节奏要适当放慢,语言组织得当,要注意给人以博学多才、见多识广的良好印象;性格内向的人则容易给人留下深沉有余、反应迟缓的印象,在面试时,这类性格的人要力争早发言,并就某一重大问题展开论述,以弥补自己性格上的不足。再次要显示潜能。面试的时间通常很短,求职者不可能把自己的全部才能展示出来,因此要抓住一切时机,巧妙地显示潜能。例如,报考会计职位的求职者可以将正在参加计算机专业的业余学习的情况“漫不经心”地讲出来,可以使对方认为你不仅能熟练掌握会计业务,而且有发展会计业务的潜力;报考秘书工作的求职者可以借主考官 的提问,把自己的名字、地址、电话等简单资料写在准备好的纸上,顺手递上去,以显示自己写得一手漂亮的字。显示潜能要实事求是,简短、自然、巧妙,否则也会弄巧成拙。
表述缺点的态度和方法:人非圣贤,孰能无过?但作为求职面试,用人单位更关心的还是你的优点,当然作为求职者,谁也不会想到通过坦陈自己的缺点来寻找理想的职业岗位。正因为这一原因,我想在没有得到主考官提示的情况下,就不必去主动陈述自己的缺点,如果对方问到,那就如实回答。宝洁公司崔广福也持同样的观点,他说:“这个问题对我来说是不问不答,如果对方没有问到去回答的话,可能会变得越描越黑;第二,如果对方真的问起来,怎么办?那么诚实是比几千棵樱桃树还值钱的东西,所以的话,诚实是最重要的,那么我们可以坦率地回答自己的弱项,同时把它转换成一种好的东西,就是坏事变好事的转换。比如说,我在那件事上做得不是很成功,但是我从里面学到了以下几个方面的经验和教训,它对我以后几方面的工作,产生了深远的影响。那么由于这次失败,我能够在以后的几件事情里,做得非常成功。”microsoft微软中国研究院院长李开复博士说:“在应聘中,很多人都担心会暴露自己的弱项,我觉得每个人应很忠诚地回答这个问题,但要说明我在进步,当一个人知道自己的弱项而学着进步的话,这对我来说是一个很好的事情,不管他是什么弱项。强调自己没有弱项,或者说,我的弱项就是工作太努力,那是没有意义的。”
另外在面试过程中切忌吹嘘自己。吹嘘自己并不是展示自己的优点,而是在附加自己的缺点,这种吹嘘与个人的实际努力南辕北辙。江苏电视台曾有三位研究生参加面试,其中一位吹嘘说他对吴地文化研究非常深,甚至举出几个文化名人。那知面试他的电视台台长正好是苏州人,反问了几个问题,结果一个也答不上来。最后被淘汰。
